Graduate career prospects

The aim of our Master in Management degree is to educate analytically and socially responsible minded business professionals with a broad economic overview and a focus on managing business performance.

Type of students for whom the field is appropriate

The study field is suitable for students with analytical thinking who are interested in the business environment, particularly for those with an emphasis on management and building companies of all sizes and legal forms of ownership, industry and business sectors.

Characteristics of graduates from the perspective of the labour market

Graduates will be able to participate in the execution of economic and managerial functions at mid-management levels in companies and other institutions where business management education is expected. They mostly start their careers in technology or pharmaceutical companies, followed by industrial enterprises, enterprises operating in the energy sector, transport and storage, trade and services or consulting firms.

When it comes to the types of first jobs our MIMG graduates land, they most often get on board with financial or sales departments, followed by consulting and marketing positions.

Below, you can find some of our graduates who have shared their first job experience.

Maverik Cascitelli

Maverik Cascitelli

Business Consultant at Management Solutions

Maverik is an MIMG graduate currently working in Milan as a Business Consultant for an international business consulting firm with a worldwide presence. He chose the MIMG Programme primarily because of its “international environment and the top-tier academic level.” What he finds particularly important for his future career path was choosing “the minor specialization in NextGen Consulting, as it led him to start his postgraduate career in consulting.” During his last year at VSE, Maverik worked as an intern in SAP’s Financial Department as a Finance Operations Associate in Controlling. The environment in Prague’s offices was heavily international, and he says he did not need any knowledge of the Czech language to work there. After earning his Master’s, Maverik landed a job with the first company he applied to.

Mark Elgort

Mark Elgort

Scrum Master at MSD

Mark has been in the country for more than 9 years, and after getting his Bachelor’s from the University of Hradec Kralove, he entered the MiM Programme in 2020 to earn his Master’s. During his first job in IT analytics at Raiffeisen Bank, Mark was given an opportunity to try to get into MSD. Laura Fiorino

Laura Fiorino

Customer Account Specialist at Exxon Mobile

Laura is an avid reader, spends a lot of time in the wilderness, and loves to travel and positively impact the world and people around her. During her studies, she held a brief part-time receptionist job in a gym but was forced to look elsewhere due to Covid when the gym was closed. She then worked as a student part-timer at Ipsos as Project Manager for about five months. After getting her Master’s in Management from VSE, multiple job offers landed her way within a month of graduation. She sees the language barrier in the Czech Republic in the sense that the lack of perfect knowledge of Czech limits people to landing jobs with only big corporations with English-friendly environments. She is employed in the Chemical Leadership dpt. with Exxon Mobile as a Customer Account Specialist and is open to networking if you have any questions.

Giovanni Pangrazzi

Giovanni Pangrazzi

Business Trainee at ŠKODA AUTO

Wanting to get experience abroad after his Bachelor’s in Trento, his hometown in Italy, Giovanni moved to Prague for his Master’s in 2020. VSE caught his eye because of the rankings in MiM, plenty of postgraduate job opportunities (most of which do not require the candidates to know the Czech language as they are fully international) and the beautiful setting of the historical and metropolitan city of Prague. He held an Accounts Payable internship at MSD Czech Republic during his studies. Having fallen in love with the city, he extended his stay for a few years after earning his Master’s. It did not take long, and he landed a Trainee position in the Finance Managerial Development Program with Procter & Gamble. Later, in February 2023, he joined the Graduate Program at ŠKODA AUTO, with rotations across different departments.
